Kuzey Star Shipyard has reached an agreement with Ulusoy Denizcilik for the installation of EGCS/Scrubber and BWTS for four Ro-Ro Cargo vessels to be completed back to back. The design and installation of two turnkey "hybrid" and two "open loop" type ME Production brand EGCS/Scrubber and 4 Wartsila brand BWTS will be undertaken by Kuzey Star Shipyard. Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS) is a cleaning system that removes sulfur oxides from the ship's engine and boiler exhaust gases. The treatment device used for this system is called Scrubber. BWTS (Ballast Water Treatment System) is a system designed to remove and destroy biological organisms from ballast water. Kuzey Star Shipyard has also reached an agreement with an experienced company from abroad for the installation of a "GRE Pipe Workshop" and the supply of pipes.
