Kuzey Star Shipyard completed its first conversion project by transforming the offshore support vessel Grıp Marine into a live fish carrier. The shipyard began its first conversion project in the last month of 2021. They converted the Grıp Marine, an offshore support vessel built in 2012 and measuring 86 meters in length and 18 meters in width, into a live fish carrier (Wellboat).
During the process of converting the Grıp Marine, an offshore support vessel built nine years ago, into a live fish carrier, 255 tons of piping, including galvanized, stainless steel, and fish pipes, were laid and installed with special couplings.
The vessel is being equipped with an ozone oxygen system, RSW (refrigerated sea water) system, RO (reverse osmosis) system, and vacuum chamber system. Additionally, two units of movable partitions made of 20 tons of stainless steel each were installed. The ship, which will also house up to 200 electrical cabinets, has been equipped with 8 units of 3500 cbm main circulation system pumps. Upon completion of the final touches, the vessel will be delivered to its owner.
